What I've been up to...

Yes, I am still alive.. shocking, I  know. This last semester started to get quite difficult, and so pretty much all fun was stopped while I slaved over paper after paper. My only breaks came from being able to work on my ceramics projects. Let me just tell you, I freaking love pottery and ceramics! It is definitely my medium. I may still produce beginner looking pieces, but I get so much joy and satisfaction from turning a lump of clay into a functional bowl. It's pretty sweet. Anywho.. I was able to pass all of my 18 credits while maintaining my GPA of 3.8 and man that was hard. But the semester is over, Christmas is tomorrow, and I only have to look forward to 12 credits next semester! WOOOT!

On the kitty cat front; both Michonne and Sherlock are terrible. They are just so bad it's not even funny. They love to knock things off of every horizontal surface, they try to climb every vertical surface, and rough house to the point of breaking something. I love them to death, but this stage in their cat life can pass at any point... I won't mind at all. And Little has been really different since I brought Sherlock into the mix. First off, Sherlock loves to annoy and mess with him. I just feel so bad for my Little. And now Little has started peeing on my clothes and on the carpet. I don't know if it is territorial or rebellion or old age, but either way, it is frustrating. I cleaned up my room (because the mountains of clothes on the floor weren't helping the situation) and I added one more litter box, so hopefully that is the solution.

I was just cast in Antigone by Sophocles as Ismene, so I'm really looking forward to being on the stage again. I've also started to look very closely at what I'm going to do after I graduate from HACC. All that is solidified is that I want to get a masters as well as a bachelors, but I don't know in what yet. Probably for acting, but I've taken a fancy to set design and dramaturgy this semester. It will have something to do with the theatre though!

So that is about it; nothing spectacular. I leave you with a couple pictures of things I've recently enjoyed!

Covered bridges in winter are just pretty!

I'm loving having a fireplace.. and so do the kitties!

Kudos, fortune cookie, for having a really insightful fortune.

I've been working the lights and sound for some of the children's shows at work and it's been really fun.

Merry Christmas!!

Take 2

Pinterest is simply amazing. If you think about it (like I do), it is a space saver and a printer ink saver. For me it is a money saver, but I don't know if I can say that about everyone. One thing it doesn't save me is time, because I spend a good amount of time pinning inspirations. But hey! You can't have too much inspiration, in my opinion. So here is another outfit inspiration, autumn style!

ready for fall, but i can't let go of summer

cardigan & tank- american eagle/ shorts- forever 21/ sandels- target

I haven't worn these shorts for probably two years and I forgot how much I loved them. The cardigan was only worn for these pictures. It was around 88 degrees outside, but I felt that it was needed for aesthetic purposes. But when I walked into my air conditioned classroom, I was glad I brought it along.

skipping the historical stuff to go climb on rocks...

That is exactly what we do. My family and I live maybe 30 minutes away from Gettysburg, so we visit it very often. We've gone through the whole battlefield a bunch, so usually we just drive straight to Little Round Top and Devil's Den to climb on the rocks. It's awesome.

I really do like Gettysburg though. It's full of neat things and I like neat things.

a good kind of addiction

i have a pinterest addiction. i'll admit it. but surprisingly, i think it is a healthy addiction for my wallet. one would think i would buy everything i see on that website (which i do occasionally) but i actually like to comb through my own wardrobe to try and recreate outfits that i pin. i get more outfits out of my closet.

this is a favorite on my wardrobe board, and i was able to put already owned pieces together to make a similar outfit.

shirt- j. crew/ skirt & belt- thrifted/ glasses- dad's from the 80's

i have a feeling i will get a lot of wear out of this outfit!

Sherlock

this is a bit overdue, but I am now just getting free time! while at work, working back stage at Free Shakespeare in the Park, during the coldest, rainy-est, most icky run we had, I found a beauty. it was intermission and as I was walking out of the women's dressing room, I see a thin grey kitten come out from under the stage. he was just so friendly, and he stayed in my arms the whole rest of the show. since I already had two kitties, my plan was to take him to the humane society in the morning, but through a series of fortunate events, he became a permanent member of my family. he went unnamed for about two weeks until my brother and I finally agreed on Sherlock. (other name contenders were Winston, Milo, and Django). I am so happy I found him. he is just the perfect addition!

p.s. he and michonne are the best of friends.. it's the most adorable thing ever!

Traveling Abroad

from May 11-22, I was in London (and Dublin for a day)! it was a study abroad theatre class and it was just indescribable! we toured Westminster Abbey, The Tower of London, Warwick Castle, Stonehenge, Stratford-upon-Avon, the Globe Theatre, the National Theatre, and lots of museums. we also had enormous amounts of free time, so I was able to explore some of the city by myself. It was just an amazing experience and I look forward to visiting (and maybe living?) there again some day!

michonne

on tuesday, i drove to PA's capital to pick up the best impulse buy ever. i've been wanting a new baby kitty for a long time now, and finally, my daddy gave the go ahead to bring one home. i went to a couple animal shelters in the central PA area, but none of them had any kittens, which is what i wanted. so i check craigslist and lo and behold, there was an ad that had two kittens. i immediately called the number listed and less than two hours later, Michonne was in my car and we were on our way home. she is just the cutest, sweetest, most curious thing. for the first two days, Little was NOT happy, but this morning, he actually tried to play with her, but she was scared. it made me so happy. today, i took her to the vet to get vaccinations and clean out her ear (she had mites). she is currently passed out on my bed. i'm just full of love for my little michonne and i'm looking forward to spending a lot of time with her.

forever and ever

the past two months i have been the busiest bee of all the bee's. well, probably not, but i have been pretty swamped with things. the biggest of the things has been Our Town. man oh man did that take up my time. now that it is over, i'm a bit sad, but happy to be sleeping again. (i've taken 4+ hour naps every day this week). here are just so photos, credit going to the set designer, Dave.

and last but not least..

omg! it's march!

february seemed like a short month this year! (LOL) i have been working my ass off with this play i've been in. and the show is in 5 days. needless to say, i'm so freaking nervous. not to mention that the guy who is playing George was in the hospital on wednesday. that had me freaking out, but thank goodness he is better! and i just feel like i'm not ready... hopefully that will change by the 6th. (deep breath) hey! if any of you are in the area (central PA) and have nothing to do, come see Our Town produced by HACCtheatreworks. the shows are March 7th (student night) at 7, March 8th & 9th at 7, and March 10th at 2 in the Rose Lehrman Arts Center.

also, my cat, though he is the most adorable kitty on this earth, is also becoming the most annoying! he will not let me sleep in! if it is past 10:30, he will meow and meow and meow and then step on me and scratch at the window. thats when i kick him out of the room, but by that point, i'm already too awake to fall asleep.

and another update: I LOVE THE WALKING DEAD!!!

gems and such

i love raw stones. mostly just for aesthetic purposes when in comes to decorating, but i also love having some quartz or amethyst dangling from a chain. i think my favorite stone is fairy quartz. i think it is delicate and just plain gorgeous. I have one beautiful stone that i plan to make into a bullet necklace (once my daddy, brother, and i go to the shooting range). for right now, i'm perfectly fine with buying gemstone jewlery. my favorite shop to buy from is Dinosaur Toes. her designs are just perfect! recently, i've come across Moorea Seal and i love her designs too!

for my next paycheck, my splurge will be this necklace. and i will probably wear it every day.
